Make-A-Wish Idaho to hold ninth annual Walk For Wishes Boise on June 2
BOISE, Idaho (CBS2) — The ninth Annual Walk for Wishes Boise will be held on Friday, June 2, at Esther Simplot Park. Walk for Wishes Boise is an event celebrating wishes granted in Idaho while raising funds for future wishes.
“This year, Make-A-Wish Idaho is poised to grant over 130 life-changing wishes, more wishes than we’ve ever granted in a single year," said Helene Peterson, Make-A-Wish Idaho Director of Development. "Some of this is due to delays caused by the pandemic, but we’re also granting more wishes because Idaho’s population has grown. Right now, we have over 100 kids waiting on wishes, and public support is more important than ever. We want to keep wait times short, so wish kids can get their wishes when they need them the most.”
Make-A-Wish Idaho would like to raise $80,000 from the event. Nearly $30,000 has already been raised from early registrants and the sponsorships of nine local businesses: Corwin Ford, the presenting sponsor, Pioneer Federal Credit Union, Ball Ventures Ahlquist, HUB International, OneTrust Home Loans, ISG Print and Embroidery and Alexander Hoffman Orthodontics.
Participants can sign up online as a walk team or as individuals. There is no registration fee, but Make-A-Wish Idaho asks participants to raise $100 or more to help grant wishes for Idaho Wish Kids. Registration starts at 5:00 p.m., with the walk kicking off at 6 p.m. The walk is approximately one mile in length.

After the walk, Paul and Cannon Fodder will perform live music. Gyro Shack, Bochi Bochi and Negranti Creamery will have food trucks available during the event.
