Maryland high school student dies after ingesting suspected fentanyl-laced pill
PRINCE GEORGE'S COUNTY, Md. (WJLA) — A Maryland high school student is dead after ingesting a pill that police believe was laced with fentanyl, officials said.
Prince George’s County Police say young people are crushing and snorting counterfeit Percocet and Oxycodone pills made with fentanyl, most of which look like blue tablets.
We’re seeing some Chinese opioids in the fentanyl realm that are 100 times more potent than the fentanyl we’ve all heard about in recent news," an undercover narcotics officer said. "Some of which can’t even be reversed by Narcan."WJLA on Friday learned from sources that the drug has claimed another young life. A 10th grader died Friday and Prince George's police believe the cause to be ingesting a fatal dose of fentanyl from a counterfeit pill.
That makes three suspected fatal overdoses of juveniles in Prince George’s County since mid-October, prompting the commander of the police narcotics division to issue a stern warning.
