West Valley Humane Society in desperate need of pet food
BOISE, Idaho (CBS2) — West Valley Humane Society is in desperate need of pet food.
The West Valley Humane Society serves 4,500 dogs per year on average as part of standard shelter operations and gives out dog food to an average of 750 dogs per year as part of the food pantry.
A statement released by the shelter says, "unfortunately, we find ourselves in urgent need of adult dog food to sustain shelter operations. As a private non-profit organization, we rely on food donations to help thousands of people and pets in Canyon County every year. This month we have found a sharp decrease in food donations and are in urgent need of assistance to maintain the excellent service we are known to provide."
The shelter is asking for help in providing the care and love needed to support the people and pets of Canyon County by donating pet food. The top priority right now is adult dry dog food of any brand, but the complete list of needs is:
- Adult dry dog food (any brand)
- Adult wet dog food (any brand)
- Puppy dry and wet food (any brand)
- Adult cat food (wet and dry)
- Kitten food (wet and dry)
- Chicken feed (all flock)
Donations can be made in person by visiting the shelter Monday-Saturday from 10-6 at 5801 Graye Ln. Caldwell, ID 83607, or by visiting their Amazon wishlist here.
